Driving thru the alps

We hope to begin in geneva, continue to lake Como and perhaps to floence, and retun to geneva or to zurick. We should have 10 to14 days. Can anyone suggest a great loop we could drive where we would get great views?

Also has anyone feedback about staying in the small towns along the way, whether it is necessary to reserve in advance. Leaving montreal on the 23 may. We are enthusiastic seniors who don't want to miss this beautiful part of erope and we love driving!

Much appreciated!

OK---I will assume 12 nites to sleep in Europe.
I would forget Geneva---Zurich is a better gateway.

Arrive Zurich--train to Luzern---3

Train to Lugano---bus to Lago Como--3

Train to Florence via Miln----3

Train to Venice---3 nites---fly home from Venice

You could reverse Florence and Venice.

bobthenavigator,

I think that they intend to drive, unless they changed their mind.

We travelled through the Alps from the Interlaken area through to Milan last year in June. It was awesome. We had no issues with the passes but I recommend you check when they open because I think most open 01 June.

We travelled the following passes: Susten, Furka, Simplon, St. Gotthard, amongst others.

Feel free to ask any questions and i can give you my perspective. Have a great trip.
