Honeymoon ideas

Thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge of travel with 2 very inexperienced travelers. We are getting married this August and need to plan our honeymoon. Here are the details.

When: August 3rd-11th (9 days)
Where: We live in Florida and want a 4 hr max flight
Interests: Looking for excursions and relaxation with an emphasis on romance
Budget: $5000 including airfare

Some places we've been told to check out include Costa Rica, Belize and Turks & Caicos. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few questions to help narrow down the options....

Where would you fly out of in Florida?
Would you need night life, any specific activities (diving, snorkeling, hiking, etc)?
Would you like to stay at a resort or an island where you can drive around, is all inclusive important?
Whats your idea of a perfect destination.... sandy beaches, lush scenery, seclusion, culture, etc?

August is off season for that part of the world, so you can get some good deals.

but, you will also have to keep weather issues in mind.
I think that Costa Rica and Belize both have their rainy season that time of year.
August is also hurricane season, so you may want to choose an island with less chance of getting hit by a storm.... Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao and Barbados come to mind.

Thank you Steviegene! We are going to take our chances with Costa Rica. First half In Arenal and second half near Quepos.

well, I can highly recommend the Hotel Nayara in Arenal. We stayed in one of the round huts and it was spectacular, romantic and luxurious.
