T&C Windsong, food shopping.

We don't want to rent a car. We are sick and tired of driving at home and also plan to stay mostly on the beach. Is there any grocery store for light food shopping within bike ride distance of Windsong condo? It would be a good exercise. Also, I heard the food prices are ourages: half a gallon of milk $7?
Thank you for any advice.

We just got back from West Bay Club which isn't far from Windsong. There's an IGA ( supermarket) not far from West Bay, but I wouldn't want to bike it since you have to cross a very busy road to get to the supermarket. You'd be better off taking a cab even though it's pricey and stocking up for the week.

Food prices are crazy, so be prepared. But not as crazy as eating out every night at some of the more popular restaurants.

I highly recommend a car. Distances are short, but from that end you'll miss out on some terrific restaurants. Cabs cost more.

Windsong is a lovely resort, you'll love it there! But still get a car

Hey Blamona,

Would've loved to meet. We just got home two days ago with the kids, who'd never been. Also took my MIL, SIL and her little dog, too, in November.

We rode bikes from Leeward Pt down to Windsong, and didnt think it would be too difficult for some light shopping to IGA. Our hotel had baskets on some bikes, otherwise you would need a backpack. Another idea is walking along the beach and exiting between Regent & 7 Stars.

While IGA does have high prices like the rest of Provo, its a quality market so its not like you will buy something and find bugs in it

Thank you all for your info. One more question: we have continental breakfast included in the the price. How decent is it? My husband needs a good breakfast

No idea, since I haven't stayed there, but you can always go next door to SOMEWHERE CAFE, which serves breakfast starting at 8:30 AM. BTW, SOMEWHERE has excellent Mexican food and mixed drinks, plus lovely views from upstairs terrace/bar. We went there almost every day for lunch last week!
