Tauck Recommendation / Comments

My 14YO son has been invited by his grandmother to join her on the Tauck Bridges Family Tanzania safari. Anyone been on it? Comments on safety, agenda, facilities, guides, accommodations, etc...
Any concerns or issues? First time he'd be traveling without the immediate family and I would like to vet the trip/tour and assuage any trepidation about his being so far away.

Tauck is a well-regarded company with an excellent reputation for high-end touring. I can't begin to see a problem here.

A highly reputable company with years in the travel industry. Your son is a lucky boy to have this oportunity to travel with his Grandma and with the arrangemens of Tauck. Have no doubt or trepidation whatsoever. They will be in the best of the hands with the top of the line tour operator.

Lucky lad! Emphasize the importance of sunscreen and a wide brimmed hat. No worries with Tauck.

Hi Chaunncy

I am not at all familiar with the company. I have taken 5 different nieces many times over the last 12 years to Southern and Eastern Africa, starting when the youngest was 8 and I am sure both my sisters knew that I would never put the girls in harm's way and that I think I am more worried about travelling with them, when they were younger, as a huge responsibility, and take more precautions simply because they are not my children.

So absolutely no concerns or issues! If your mother or mother-in-law I am guessing, wants to take your boy, dive in and accept such a generous offer. It is something both of them will remember for a lifetime and will be full of so many memories for both of them!

Both my sisters were the same, as long as I was happy with the arrangements, then they were happy with the arrangements.

Kind regards

Kaye

I have traveled with Tauck. Their first priority is the well being and safety of their clients. On a trip to Jordan with Tauck one of our group members became ill during the night. Our tour director took her for medical help and stayed with her until she was given proper care.
There will be a tour director with the group throughout the tour and then local guides as well.
Tauck is one of the best tour companies.

Tauck is well established and responsible, with excellent reviews for 'group' safaris. The accommodations shown are in the mid-category, what would be considered 'superior' in the States, except for the camp at the Western Serengeti, Mbalageti, that would be 'deluxe.' These properties are clean with very good food services. They'll both be perfectly safe. Your son and his grandmother will have a fantastic time, sharing this amazing destination.

My only issue with Tauck is that they are overpriced (not near as high as Micato or A&K... still high) and don't amend their itinerary for best game viewing depending on time of year clients visit. Example: they're in Central and Western Serengeti (2/nts each) year-round, which is not the best for Jan-Mar or Aug-Oct. Guess, you can't please everyone all the time.
