Is 6 days in one hostel too long

I am planning a trip to Turkey and I am planning to stay in one hostel for 6 days then leaving for 2 or 3 days then coming back to the same hostel for 2 or 3 more days.

Is this too much? I remember my mom telling me that it is frowned upon to stay in a hostel for too long.

I wouldn't worry about that, some places have rules on length of stay, and if you are following them, don't worry. I don't think six days is that long. I thought you just were wondering if you might get sick of the same place for that long a period and should you mix it up with some other place. I would, unless you know it's a super hostel or you've already been there and liked it, or no other choice.

The only thing that is frowned on is if you try to get around the maximum stay limits by making multiple bookings. They will likely catch that.

I think 14 days is more likely a maximum limit in some hostels, although I've seen some that are 6, but just check out the rules where you want to go. If you are only staying 6, that's not so bad.

Frowned upon? Why would that be? I would assume the proprietors would be happy to have a relatively long-term guest. I never heard of maximum night limits, but I've never stayed in a hostel, so maybe there are general rules I'm not aware of.

At any rate, if you want to stay someplace for 6 nights, good for you! Sounds like you really want to get a good grasp of wherever in Turkey you are going.

Just make sure it's a place that you really don't mind staying for 6 days. I would be miserable, for example, if the place was rundown and/or didn't have hot running water or was unfriendly.

Lots of hostels have maximum stay limits, of course. Why comment on a hostel if you know nothing about it. They don't want people taking up the spaces on a permanent basis, they are supposed to be for travelers. Lots of them have limits around 14 days.
