Grand cayman or Marco island in mid-jan

Looking for a warm luxurious beach destination jan 18th-22nd. We live in the Midwest so I don't want to go any further south than GC as I can still arrive by 1:00 pm. I've been to Eleuthera, Aruba, DR, st. John, st. Thomas, Anguilla, st. Marten, and Nassau. Loved St. John, Anguilla and eleuthera beaches, the others we're ok. We are looking at the GC Marriott or the Marriott on Marco Island. Not interested in Mexico or Central America, but would be interested in Abacos, Exumas or other out islands if they are nicer and warmer than GC. Marco would be cheap as we fly free on southwest. GC flights are $650 each, but the hotel is $400 a night for either place. Any suggestions on which place is better (better beaches, better restaurants, nicer hotel)? Am I rolling the dice on FL and the weather being cold? Thanks for you help.

Marco Island will not be nearly as warm as Grand Cayman in Jan. If you want to actually enjoy the beach and swim, go with Grand Cayman.

I am biased, go to Grand cayman. Marco Island will be pleasant in the winter but not exactly tropical. The average low in January for Marco Island is 53 degrees according to the weather channel, not exactly a tropical vacation.

Grand Cayman has good restaurants, friendly people, little crime and the Marriott is on Seven Mile Beach. Average low temperature about 73 degrees.

I've been to all the above.

I had a nice time at Marco Island, and the Marriott there is fantastic, but Caymans beaches and restaurants are much nicer!

MI beaches don't even come close to the above beaches.

Fla can be funny, Jan can have temps in 80s or 60s. So it can be great, it can be chilly

I have been to Florida in February and it never got out of the 50s and low 60s. Absolutely a crap shoot for January. GC will without a doubt be a great choice, and much warmer!!

I've been to both in January. Go to Grand Cayman!
