Everything you're asking about is listed in guide books and on the internet. Try inyourpocket.com or click on "destinations" above for a first pass.

If you want opinions you should give an idea of your interests and budget. You can read my trip report for an idea of what I did and what restaurants I went to. I gave opinions on the sights and restaurants in the TR.

when are you visiting,i travel there every May for the Czech Beer Festival and am just back from a trip with a small walking group doing some walks in an around Prague. If you are visiting before Christmas then the Christmas markets are on from the end of this month
loads of good returants to suit all budgets, music depends on what you are after but jazz is very popular and there are various classical/opers events on all year round.

We did a walking tour with a local guide, booked in front of the astronomical clock, and we went to Cesky Krumlov, a fantastic fairy tale town, for a day.

Have a meal at a restaurant below the Charles Bridge. There is a stairway going down underneath it.

I've loved all the day trips I took, I used day bus companies, there are several good ones in Prague. I've been to Kutna Hora, Cesky Krumlov, Hluboka, and Ceske Budejovice that way. I think last time I used Prague Sightseeing Tours which were very good. You can see what interests you http://www.pstours.cz/

You can do some on your own, of course.

When you do your reading and research here is a short list of what to read up on.

1. Charles Bridge ( of course)
2. Wenceslas Square
3. Old Town Square ...which has the Astronomical Clock, The Jan Hus Monument (read on Jan Hus so you knwo who he was ),
Tyn Church and St.Nicholas Church .. ( all of these are at the Old Town Square)

4. Prague Castle and Square ( lots to see here)

5. Old Jewish Quarter
6. Wallenstein Palace
9.Opera House
10.Petrin Hill and Tower.
11. Old Jewish Quarter.
12. Across the Charles Bridge is Lesser Town or Little Town , in the book this will be referred to as Mala Strana

I will stop here as these are just a few places you will come across on your reading.

Also all the places I mentioned are within walking distance of each other if you like walking.

The unique thing about Prague is that the main attraction is the City itself.

So no matter where you stroll around ,there is something pleasing and attractive everywhere.

You have six days...so enjoy, the city will amaze you !!
