Historic Green Vault

We would like to visit the Historic Green Vault in Dresden. When I went to make a reservation there was also a combination ticket. I see that includes the New Green Vault, Turkish Vault, Watchman's Tower and special exhibits.Fo those of you that have included those in your visit I would appreciate feedback. Now the tricky question about how long for a visit to the Historic Green Vault only and then about how long to visit both the Historic Green Vault and sights included in combination ticket. I understand everyone would spend a different amount of time but just an approximate.

How much money does the combination ticket save you? The regular ticket for New Green Vault, Turkish chamber, tower (Is it open in December? I doubt it.) and special exhibits is 10 Euro and these don't sell out - so I would decide on the spot, depending on available time (although it would be a shame to miss the New Green Vault and the Turkish chamber.)

Historic Green Vault - an hour at least, mostly it's 1.15 h.
New Green Vault - 1.30 h minimum.
Turkish chamber 30 minutes.
Tower - involves climbing many steps, let's say 30 minutes.
Special exhibits - totally depends. As far as I could see there is nothing exciting in regards to special exhibits in the Royal Palace when you're in Dresden. The exhibit with treasures from the Kremlin/Moscow starts 1 Dec.

I did this yesterday.
The audio guide runs quite long. Additionally you can extend the visit even longer if you choose to listen to the descriptions of individual pieces within each room in additional to the general room description. The exhibit is dazzling.
The New Green Vault should not be missed either.

One note. They are very very strict about what you bring into the room. You cannot even bring in a purse. You must put in a locker. The process works like this. You enter the courtyard when the ticket window is located. From there, the direction to the Historic Green Vault is not good. But it is in the same direction as the Turkish chamber. Roughly to the right forward. You pass by a large bank you lockers which you must use or the attended cloakroom just after the lockers. You then move even more forward to the double door climate control entrance. There is an attendant with bar code scanning podium with clock to make sure you are there at the right time. I got to the door one minute early, but I was allowed to proceed. What this means is that you must have completed putting away your things in a locker or in the cloakroom before you lineup to hit your 15min window.

If you are using a Dresden card, they include other museums in the complex.

I toured the Green Vault last week. I agree with Greg on both the audio guide and the "don't bring anything with you" part. I really wish I'd known it was that strict as my hotel was across the street and I would have left every thing there.

I started out by listening to everything on the audio guide, then by the 5th room or so (there are only 9 rooms to the Historic Green Vault) I listened to the overview for the room itself and then the specific track for any items that caught my eye. I think I was in there about an hour and a half.
