Travelling in Paris (3 day visit card?)

We arrive into CDG on Friday i was planning on arranging transport into the centre of paris at this point purchasing our 3 day visit cards for travel? zones 1-3? is this the best way to go?
also i assume they run out on sunday night? and not Monday (same time we purchased on the friday?)

is this the best way to go?

Unless you're planning on doing a whole lot of riding the métro, including in Zones 2 and 3 outside the central city, I don't know why you'd pay almost 22 euros for a 3-day pass instead of just buying a carnet and paying the extra for the RER ride into Paris from the airport (assuming you plan to do that). I can't use up a full carnet in 3 days even if the weather's bad and I'm not walking as much as I normally do.

I think a carnet costs about 11 euros, but you can google it. Have no idea about Disney - never been and don't plan to, but I suspect it's outside Zone 3 anyway.

Carnet is very easy and you can also use the tickets on the bus system.

thanks really is confusing trying to work out best approach as its 2 adults and a child out hotel is zone 2, ive now found that under 26 years of age can travel very cheap using weekend day passes. so may get them on saturday and sunday for our daughter, but then part of me is just saying get 3 zone 1-6 passes and that covers us all including trips to eurodisney lol but im thinking its daft doing that just need to plan properly..
the carnet i think can only be used in zone 1?
ps thanks for weblink

Yes, it is confusing. For travel between CDG and town or town and Disney you would need a pass covering zones 1-5. In general, the Paris Visite card costs more than you would spend on transport with single tickets/carnet; you are paying for the convenience. If you are able to take advantage of some of the discounts that come with the pass (e.g., 20% off Disney one day tickets) this may offset the cost.

Single RER ticket from CDG to central Paris is €9.25. Single RER ticket Paris to Marne-la-Vallée Chessy-Parc Disney is €7.10 each way.

For travel in town single metro tickets are 1.70 but per ticket cost is lower if you purchase a carnet (packet of 10 tickets) for €12.50.

For adults, Mobilis is a one day pass costing €6.40 for zone 1-2, €15.20 for zone 1-5. For your child, the Ticket Jeunes Week-end is a daily pass that costs €3.55 for zone 1-3 or €7.60 for zone 1-5 for each day.

Seamus thanks cfor taking time to reply mate, really appreciate all the replies,
im thinking mobillis day pass for zone 1 and 2 sounds ideal.. thanks very much mate.

think the rer from the airport this time as the bus the last time took a while!
all in all reckon will be under 100euros for a weekend of travel including airport and disney so less than i was expecting!

expiration would be at 0230h on Monday so you would not be able to use the pass to get back to the airport Monday.

One advantage of the tourist passes is that it begins the day you start it, unlike standard public train passes which must begin a certain day of the week (Monday). There are daily tickets in Paris, though (all transportation for a day), they are called MObilis. The Paris Visite can be okay deals for children, however, as they have reduced rates. And you cannot use Mobilis tickets for the airports, either.

The Paris Visite passes don't start on a particular hour you choose, they are for the entire day. Friday is one day, even if you didn't start using it until 2 pm that day. It expires at 5:30 in the morning (which is when it starts for a day). So if you started using it on Friday, it would expire Monday morning at 5:30 am.
