Eat St doesn't work on Sats, Borough Market can get crowded and the extraordinary diversity of food stalls at Camden Market all share a common awfulness.

Street food hasn't really been a London thing for about a century. At weekends, it's mostly mediocrity catering to undiscriminating local tourists (though you now and then hit a few stars for a year or two in lots of street markets). But in the past few years a lot of small clusters have sprung up aimed at the lunchtime worker market - and these need to be good to get the punters coming back. Obviously, they mostly work on weekdays, but there are a few at weekends.

Or those reviewed at

I love Camden Market - some may think it mediocre but I loved it and what it lacks in flavour it makes up for in atmosphere. Borough Market is also a good spot (great atmosphere) but not as much variety and is only open on particular days.

If you're already in the area, try Leather Lane. It's a little street market with an odd mix of cheap tat, greasy food and even some pretty great food. Burritos, falafel, phad Thai, smoothies, curry, coffee, etc.

I stumbled upon the market while I was trying to eat at Daddy Donkey, a Mexican place. I didn't realize it was just a burrito truck until I almost walked past. The burrito was actually pretty good - one of the best I've had in London!
