Winery B&B on Sicily

We're looking to stay at a B&B (or two - one northish, one eastish) on Sicily this October. Would love to stay at a winery. Any favorites?

Brand new member. No posts or responses.

Have you tried google? I hear it's the latest thing?

You might find a few hundred websites.

I like this website to search for B&B's in Italy. It either links you to the B&B's own website or gives you contact info. You can also send out a blanket request to an area for offers and to see what's available.

Thanks Rastaguy...I've checked a LOT of websites (not quite a few hundred). Was hoping to narrow it down.

kybourbon - I'm checking it now. Thanks so much for your sincere help.

I think you'll have to narrow down your areas/towns and post them before you will get specific suggestions.

Raputa and Regaleali(sp?) are the two best wineries on the island-just saying!

Try the search term "agriturismo," that's what you are looking for.

Hi Cynthia,

this is a website that I've come across before misting agriturismi all over Italy. here's the link for Sicily:

http://www.agriturismo.it/en/farmhouse/sicily

please come back and post if you find anything to suit - I'm looking at a trip to Sicily too, so I'd be interested in seeing what you found.

We're headed to Sicily in a few weeks, and I researched that same subject extensively for our upcoming trip.

We booked a brand new hotel on a vineyard near Etna called Monaci delle Terre Nerre that looks gorgeous. If you want, I can report back, and in the meantime google it to check out the photos. The owner and his wife have been wonderful over email and given lots of personalized suggestions for sightseeing, wine tastings, and restaurants, so I think it will be a lovely stay.

Also, the famous vineyard Planeta has a nice hotel too. It is called Hotel La Foresteria Planeta Estate. It is in the south, not too far from Agrigento. We would have stayed there as well if we routed our trip that far west.

Locande Cos is a vineyard hotel that we'll be visiting for a tasting and lunch, but we aren't staying at their hotel since we like other boutique properties in the Baroque towns more. I recommend it though for lunch and wine.

The one other vineyard hotel in Sicily we almost booked is called Santa Anastasia. It is a traditional property slightly south of Cefalu, and not too far from Palermo. It didn't have the intimate feel of some of the other vineyard properties, but it does look luxurious.

Ultimately, we liked the design the most for Monaci delle Terre Nerre, and the Etna region has the most interesting and critically acclaimed vineyards in Sicily, and the proximity to Taormina and Syracuse were appealing, so that's how we prioritized it above the others we researched. Of course, the decision is personal, so I emailed all the others we stumbled upon while researching in case that helps you pick the best vineyard hotel for your upcoming trip.
