Global Travel

Does anyone have experience traveling in Cambodia or Thailand with Global Travel and Mr. Ann? If so, would you recommed their agency? Any recommendations on travel agents to use to help us with our trip?

Thanks.

My family used Global Travel Cambodia in Jan 2010 for our tour of Thailand and Cambodia. We really had a terrific time and loved the service. When I go on vacation I like to relax and enjoy my time. I do not want to stress about figuring out how to get from one place to another or where to stay or what to do. So when my family and I decided to go on vacation to Cambodia, we decided to use Global Travel Cambodia upon a recommendation from a few travelers on this forum and other. I emailed Ann, the owner of Global Travel Cambodia, and informed him of some places I was interested in seeing and he set up an entire itinerary for me and my family. Everything was taken care, from airport pick-ups, to personal drivers and guides, to hotel rooms and domestic flights. The guides took care of obtaining any tickets we needed for whatever activity or sight we were visiting that day. I cannot imagine the logistics of planning this vacation and I am so glad I did not have to do much other then email Global Travel Cambodia and show up in Cambodia. Moreover, some of the places we visited, I would not have known about or would have just skipped. Without Global Travel Cambodia’ help, I would have missed some incredible sights.

The guides were extremely informative and friendly. Each guide arrived promptly, and in most cases, early at the hotel each day for our sightseeing. The drivers were also prompt and were good drivers; the vans were clean and nice as well as cold water always ready on van. On our last day, our driver held onto our luggage so that we could sightsee. Not having to deal with our luggage was a complete relief.

This trip was the best trip of my life. I saw amazing places, stayed at nice hotels, ate delicious food, and learned a lot. With Global Travel Cambodia’ helps, I was able to relax and fully enjoy my trip. I highly recommend Global Travel Cambodia. My family also planning another trip to Vietnam and Laos, and definitely using Global Travel again.

Why does this entire thread smell like a set-up?

But if you do say that, Michael - your response will be deleted. Guess whose comment was removed just above?

My family have used Global for twice trips over the past two years: Vietnam and Cambodia, Thailand and Laos. We booked and planned our holiday with Mr Ann at Globaltravel-Cambodia. I recommend them & would use them again. I did quite a bit of initial work on where to go, what to see, and where to stay. Mr Ann was flexible and accommodative in meeting our wishes. Transportation was comfortable and dependable. Most of the guides were top notch. Excellent value compared to booking with US tour operators.

I did use Global Travel for a 3-week tour Vietnam & Cambodai and had excellent results. They are a first class outfit. I had many e-mail exchanges with Mr Ann as I planned my trip in great detail--they were extremely helpful and responsive. My tour was in March 2011.

The trip was for just the 2 of us and we had a driver and English-speaking guide the whole time. By the way, if you go to Ha Long Bay be sure to do an overnighter on the boat and we love the Ginger boat. If you go to Hoi An be sure to have some clothes made.

The highlights amongst so many fascinating sights were Halong Bay, Hue, Hoi An, the Cu Chi tunnels, Mekong delta, Pho Quc and Angkor wat temples, apart that is from the food, the people and the culture.

We are definitely planning to use them again.

We’ve used Global Travel in November 2009 for our tour of Viet Nam & Cambodia and used them again for Laos and Thailand in 2011.

We are usually independent travelers but we were glad we paid the extra and went thru a local company as it makes life a lot easier when it comes to transportation/guides/internal flights etc.

Everything went like clockwork. Every detail was correct. Our guide spoke really good English and was lovely. Highly recommend this company.

We have just returned from Burma, Veitnam and Cambodia and also used Global Travel tours who were brilliant right from the first email which was answered quickly to help with itinerary, hotel choices and our driver/guide. All went smoothly and very good guide and hotels, we loved the country with all the great temples and beautiful scenery and friendly people.

We would recommend them.

We used Global Travel & Tours to organise our trip to Cambodia & Laos. We arranged our own flights from the UK to Phnom Penh (via Hong Kong) and Mr Ann arranged everything in Laos & Cambodia from meeting us on arrival at Phnom Penh & transferring us back to the airport at the end of our stay. Our itinerary was as follows:

We did 2 nights in Phnom Penh (at The Pavilion), drove to Siem Reap for 5 nights (at Shinta Mani), internal flight from Siem Reap to Luang Prabang for 4 nights (at 3 Nagas), drove to the Plain of Jars for 2 nights (at Vasana Plain of Jars), drove to Vang Vieng for 1 night, drove to Vientiane for 2 nights (at Settha Palace). Flew back to Phnom Penh & had one night in The Pavilion before catching our home ward flight the next day.

I had done quite a bit of research about Cambodia & Laos, so we gave Mr Ann quite detailed information on where we wanted to go, approximately how long and the hotels where we wanted to stay (except for Viang Vieng where we asked Mr Ann for a suggestion). I got my itinerary quoted on by 2 UK based operators who came out significantly more expensive.

All the arrangements for the holiday were perfect and we felt very well looked after by the 3 excellent & informative guides that we had during our stay. Overall I would rate the service as excellent and on a par with other tailormade holidays that we have previously taken. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking to travel to SE Asia to contact Mr Ann. www.globaltravel-cambodia.com

We loved Cambodia & Laos and you can view my husbands photo's of the trip here => http://www.pbase.com/waldr_p/south_east_asia

We do not usually make use of private tours to help us arrange our travels but this was the exception and we were delighted with the outcome. I initially contacted Global Travel Cambodia Mr ANN via Trip Advisor recommendations with a list of questions about my forthcoming Cambodia honeymoon trip. From the outset, he was helpful, quick to reply and intuitive in understanding what we were looking for. He put me under no pressure to take up his recommendations but in the end I was happy for him to put together an itinerary for our entire 11days trip. He was entirely flexible and happy to adapt the programme to meet our budget and individual requirements. From the moment we met our guide Mr San in Siemreap, to accompany us on memorable trips to the Angkor Wat temples and the Prek Toal Bird Sanctuary and all the way, via other hugely enjoyable two day Phnom Pehn, our Cambodia experience was made so easy for us to enjoy. We learned so much from all the guides, who without exception were hugely well informed and spoke very good English. A special thank you to our guide Mr Rith with whom we spent a memorable couple of days in Phnom Penh and Kep. We would never have enjoyed the variety of experiences we had in this wonderful country without the help of Mr Ann and his team and recommend them unreservedly.
