Spain, Barcelona Apartments

We are are group of 4 couples (8) spending 6 nights in Barcelona at the end of September.
Can anyone recommend an apartment that has 4 double rooms (no bunks or sofa beds)
at least 2 bathrooms (both with showers) and a good sized living area, possible balcony and kitchen in a well located area. PLEASE? I have spent hours looking on various sites but I thought it would be better if someone could recommend a place that they know. Thanks.

I too would be interested in learning about some apartments from first-hand experience. We don't need one that large, but maybe the same company will work.

It might be hard to find what you are looking for,
Take a look at Habitat.

If you do not find an apartment that large, you can consider renting two adjoining apartments, or two apartments in the same building....

I rented from Destination BCN (Ghost apartment; 2 bedroom) and there were others in the same building, including one on the same floor. Their Cadaques flat is a great 2-bedroom with a terrace. Their standards are exceptionally high for rental apartments.

The location is ideal, too.

Sorry, but that location from travelblogger88 is on the outskirts of town and nowhere near the major Barcelona sites. That is NOT a good location.

We rented from Barcelonastuff.com and they had a building within 3 minutes walk of Placa Catalunya on a quiet street that had about 4 apartments. You can also go to apartur.com and look at the various Barcelona vacation rental agencies and seek apartments in the same building.

DestinationBCN is not cheap - if your budget is large, fine; if not, DestinationBCN apartments are more expensive than what you'll find at Habitat or Barcelona Stuff.

Check out bcn-rentals.com - they have various apartments that they list in categories as: sleep 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, or 9+ people. And email these agencies to determine what apartments are in the same building if you end up splitting your group.

Your order is otherwise quite tall - there are not many 4 bedroom apartments in Barcelona available for tourists. Look at the size of the apartment too: a square meter is 10.56 square feet or so, that means a 75 square meter apartment, which is large to Europeans, is less than 800 square feet and you'll be crowded with 8 people in such a space.

Well, I thought I'd found somewhere. We paid our deposit- received our confirmation then a week later they emailed and said the apartment was unavailable. They suggested an alternative but that didn't suit our group. I requested a refund of the deposit- guess what? still had no reply and no refund yet. Does anyone have a suggestion of how I handle this- I haven't had this happen before. The booking was through an agent.

"The booking was through an agent."

What agency did you use?
Call your credit card company and try to reverse the charge. If you did a direct deposit the odds of getting it are slim, shoot for the alternative instead.

Last September I was at an international Fair in Barcelona and stayed at EasySleep Sagrada Familia, on Carrer de Sicilia 159.

http://www.booking.com/hotel/es/apar...=&gclid=CJGfyf

The location is very good, near Sagrada Familia and near metro station, in a residential and quiet area. The apartments are very large, have kitchen, 2 bathrooms and theoretical can accommodate 6 people. However, one of the room is too small , so I think that the apartment is ideally for 4 adults or for 4 adults and 2 children.

We recently used this agency and liked the apartment we stayed in: http://www.barcelonacheckin.com/en

We've also used habitatapartments.com in the past.

You may be able to find 4 bedroom apartments on these sites, but often some of the bedrooms will be quite small with single beds. I think you'd be better off renting two apartments in the same building. Take a look at the Habitat Art 1, 2 or 3 apartments, all in the same building:

http://www.habitatapartments.com/en/...view/art-1.htm

That website has a number of options for two apartments in the same building.

Good luck.

Thanks pookymimi, I'll give it a shot if I don't hear from them this week.
The annoying thing is that they waited 5 weeks to tell us that they had a problem with their 'booking system"

Barcagal: That doesn't meet Jayne's requirements - the apt has ONE bathroom and four single beds.
