Trip Report: A very short visit to Aquitaine & Lot

Hello everyone!
Here is a photo-journal / trip report of my recent trip to Aquitaine & Lot. We visited Bordeaux, St. Émilion, Rocamadour, Gouffre de Padirac, Lascaux II, Sarlat, Perigueux as well as a few small villages like Domme, Carennac etc. If these places interest you, have a read at

Cheers. Suja

hi suja - nice TR!

i like the way you mix the comments and photos in your blog, and the pics are very good especially considering the weather you had.

re your observation of the no of thai restaurants in Bordeaux, we spent a day and night in Bratislava once and couldn't get over the number of sushi bars. What was THAT about?

I also liked the format with the info in between the photos. We are visiting the Dordogne in Sept. so I especially liked the info on the caves.

TPAYT - I agree wholeheartedly with Suja's appraisal of the Gouffre de Padirac and Lascaux ll. both well worth the trip as was the Font de Gaume.

we also liked the gardens at the manoir d'erignyac, and others that i can't find the name of that overlook the river.

Sarlat struck as a nice place to stay.

@Ira : Thank you for reading
@Tpayt : If you plan to visit Font de Gaume in September, you may well be already too late to book! They told me it was booked out until September but its worth trying. I second annhig's opinion that Sarlat is a good base.

Nice blog suja. Love your photos and descriptions. The dordogne is also very beautiful when the weather is nice, it's so green.

Ann, the other garden are the Jardins de Marqueyssac where you have a view of the Dordogne River and several of the castles. We went in March and it was very nice even though it wasn't in season.
