ok, it depends on what you like, there are the usual tourist things, Museums, boat trips, catherdral visits and up the Eiffel tower. You need to get a book and read up about the place. If I was advising with no knowledge I'd look at

1) The Fat Tyres Segway tour
2) the cathedral
3) the orangerie and the D'orsay museum
4) a market, any market
5) eat mussels, chips and beer
6) eat pancakes in the street
7) walk the left bank (lots of little shops)

come back and tell us what you do apart from work

a few detalis may help us to help you -

where is your hotel? [Paris is a big place],

when is your trip?

how many people travelling?

any children/elderly in tow?

where are you coming from and going to?

exactly how much time do you have in Paris?

If you are thinking that you will easily go up the Eifel Tower you will be disappointed. Currently there is only one lift working and online tickets are limited(I know this from my own trip planning). The website states that there is a minimum 2 hour wait for access to the tower once you get tickets (which is another wait altogether). So with your limited time, it might be wise just to plan to "see" it rather than go up it.

albertico - what i interpret from your post is that NO bikes are available on July 22nd?

the world and his wife will be on the Champs Elysee watching the end of the tour - get there early if you want a place or spend your time in the parts of Paris that the tour doesn't reach, which will be eerily quiet. Good day to visit the Louvre, for example.
