Busaras in Dublin (and restaurant help)

I will be taking the Air Link Bus from Dublin Airport next week to Busaras....from there I am taking the Bus Aireann to Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon. If I don't get the earlier bus at the airport I will have to wait a few hours once I get to Busaras. What would you suggest for a mid morning meal for a restaurant? I will have a suitcase and a carry-on..having traveled from California...with a 4 hour bus ride ahead.

Also, I believe the Air link Bus will drop me off at Talbot Street/Central Bus Station & Conolly Rail Station (per the brochure)....I believe the "Central Bus Station" is the Busaras?

So, that would be the area I might need a place to sit and have a bite to eat.

I've been to Ireland many times but have never taken the bus...we have always rented a car..this time I am alone and no car!

Thanks for any ideas and help!

Le Bon Crubeen on Talbot St opens for business at 11.30 am, while the Talbot 101 nearby opens at midday. Both are fine restaurants and will feed you up in advance of your trip to Roscommon.
The Harbourmaster in the nearby IFSC is also a popular lunch spot, also opens for food at midday.
If you need to eat earlier, your best bet is probably the buffet breakfast in the North Star Hotel which runs until 11.00 am. It's just a few steps from Busaras.

You wouldn't want to try the 101 with baggage; it's an upstairs premises without a great deal of spare space.

I'm not sold on the Bon Crubeen, but that does not mean that you would not like it. There will be enough space to keep your stuff near you, and the staff seem to be helpful. See what you think: http://www.leboncrubeen.ie/

It's years since I have been in the North Star; it was good way back when, but I can't comment on current standards.

The 747 bus will drop you off at the Y-shaped corner of Talbot St and Talbot Pl. Walk down Talbot Pl to Shore St.
The entrance to Busaras is on Shore St (where Google maps also sets the dot for Busaras Bus Station).
At Busaras you got lockers downstairs. No elevator, and the basement where you also have the toilets is a bit seedy.
But probably the best place to leave your luggage if you literally have hours to kill.

The immediate surroundings of the bus station are not exactly inviting. So you probably want to walk down Lower Abbey St till you get to O'Connell (appr. 5min). Or go back to Talbot St. for the aforementioned places.
You can also take the Luas/tram for 1 stop to Abbey St @ O'Connell if you don't want to walk.

If you prefer to hang on to your luggage, you should stay on the bus until you reached stop #11 (O'Connell St., as in your brochure).

In the last block of O'Connell between Abbey St. and the Liffey you also have McD and BK. Both not too bad when you can secure a table at the windows on the upper floors with a nice view over O'Connell.

What time do you get into Dublin Airport? There may be other options.

Whatever Cowboy says is very likely to be correct (except for trivial details like calling Store St Shore St.). I was not aware that there were lockers in Busaras, but that makes life simpler for you.

You should consider the 101: it is one of the better eateries in the area: http://www.101talbot.ie/index.php

Thanks everyone so much...going to check on what you've mentioned now...oh yeah, I forgot to mention...I am in a wrist brace on my right hand (yes, I'm right handed..of course, huh?)...so, I am also a bit "handicapped" right now...wrist not broken but sprained (sp?). Sigh.

My flight gets in at 8:15am from NYC (having originated in CA)..hoping to get to Busaras for the 10:30am bus to Ballaghaderreen. If not, I will have to wait until the 1:00 bus..that is why I was wondering if there was a place to sit and have something to eat.

Thanks so much!

I looked at both 101talbot and Le Bon Crubeen and both look great..but, I'm afraid I won't have enough time to get the 1:00 bus to Ballagh...hate to miss that since I would have already missed the 10:30 bus. So, I am writing down the North Star...I might end up at McD but I will try to find something else before I succomb to that..haha. I really would like to make the earlier bus...but that is iffy.

Again, thanks..all information is helpful!

There is no problem getting to Busáras for 10.30 and the No.22 through Ballaghaderreen.

The Dublin Bus 747 leaves the Airport every 15 mins and takes 30 mins to just round the corner from Busáras.
