Car and driver from Nurnberg to Prague
We are 4 adults ending a river cruise in Nurnberg in May and want to hire a car and driver to Prague. We do not want to take a train or bus. Are there any special attractions we should stop and see along the way? Karlovy Vary, Pilsen, Hotel Pupp for lunch? Any suggestions will be helpful.

Karlovy Vary IMO was a super interesting place - old German spa once called Karlsbad I believe - ornamental spa buildings in a sylvan setting. Marienbad nearby is a similar famous old-time spa once catering to the rich and famous.
Pilsen is a large city but has beer tours thru the original Pilsener breweries.
The spa towns are easily done in a few hours - Pilsen more hectic.

The bus from Nurnberg is very nice. It's about 4 hours w/o stops. You can buy snacks and drinks on the bus but I suggest going inside the Nurnberg train station and buying some snacks/sandwiches there. BTW - this is from someone who HATES buses!!!!
There is no train from Nurnberg to Prague unless you take a circuitous route.
You didn't ask for a recommendation for a driver but I used Mike's Chauffeur service in Prague (based on other recommendations on this board) and I was impressed. Mike is a wonderful person, very helpful and professional. He was waiting for me at the Prague bus depot with my name on a sign and very obligingly stopped at an ATM so I could get some Czech money. Then the machine only dispensed large bills so he went inside the bank to get smaller money for me.

We do want a car and driver, not the bus. We are looking for interesting places to stop along the way to Prague. We are giving ourselves about 6 hrs. to do this transfer but we don't know anywhere else to stop. Has anyone lunched at the Hotel Pupp? How long should we consider for Karlovy Vary?
Thanks.
Thanks.

A simple google search came up with this website:
http://www.prague-nurnberg.cz/
I have no experience with them, cannot say if they're reliable. Seems the price is 236 Euro, plus 10% tip, plus waiting time if you want to see something along the way.
Karlsbad/Karlovy Vary or Marienbad/Marianske Lazne would probably be your best options for sightseeing. Had cake and tea at Hotel Pupp and thought it was wonderful. Totally overpriced, of course.

Money does not seem to be an issue for you. (Just envious...) It won't be easy to find a company that does this at all, and if you find one you'll pay an arm and a leg.
Driving time from Nuremberg to Prague via Karlovy Vary is estimated as 4 h 30 by www.viamichelin.com which is usually pretty accurate, provided there are no traffic jams. That means you have one and a half hour in Karlovy Vary, which is just enough for lunch with no time for sightseeing. Add a couple of hours to see a bit of the town, it is well worth a full day, in fact. Add even more time if you intend to stop in other places, too.

I've already said that Mike's Chauffeur Service will do this trip - 5700Czk for the drive, about $300USD. I think that's reasonable for a 4 hour drive, split 4 ways. If the OP wants extra time that will be extra, I'm sure.
If you ask Mike for recommendations for lunch/sightseeing he will be able to help.
