When I am in the area I eat in Medford which has at least 3 times the number compared with Ashland.
The South entrance for Crater Lake NP is open. On weekends the NPS rangers lead snowshoe treks if you want to learn how to snowshoe.

It's been a couple years for me as well- but there are several cute places close to the Shakespeare Theater. I will ask some of my high school classmates who live in the Rogue Valley.

Amuse Restaurant, Black Sheep Pub, and Morning Glory for breakfast. I also like Pasta Piatti.

Hope you have a good trip . We get up to Ashland twice a year, usually 4th of July and around Xmas. Sally’s dad lives on Oak Knoll and plays nine holes 3 times a week. At 90 years old he is still shooting around 100. I think being in the Navy on an aircraft carrier in WWII gave that generation real stamina.

I live in Ashland. There are many good restaurants in town and here are a few suggestions for restaurants in the downtown area.

- Dragonfly (fusion of Latin and Asian cusine), as mentioned, is a nice restaurant with well prepared dinner choices. http://www.dragonflyashland.com/

I always like Lark's, and I usually make it at least twice to Morning Glory for breakfast/brunch. Tried a new place last October -- http://smithfieldsashland.com/. Really enjoyed it. I'm not a huge meat eater, but did order a hangar steak and enjoyed it. I remember everything being quite good and friendly service. I'd definitely go there again. Pasta Piatti is good for a casual meal, though they can get quite busy before plays. Probably won't be too bad in early April (I'm going a bit later in April), but you can always make reservations to be safe.

I'm still bummed that the sandwich place in Allyson's closed...

Ahhhh - nothing like watching Shakespeare in an open air theater and if you are lucky (you may be a bit early in the year) - you might have some of the fragerance of the various flowers from the park wafting over the stage.

This is from another high school buddy - noting Larks in the Ashland Springs Hotel. Hey - he is Italian and a pretty good cook - and always had a good sense of humor. He lives in Grants Pass - which is to the West of Ashland, and is involved in Health Services so he has checked out a lot of restaurants.

"Although I have not eaten there my work buddies that live in Ashland speak highly of Larks at the Ashland Springs Hotel. Of course, it's all a step down from my own awesome culinary flair, although I do get tired of meatballs. I have found a great hamburger place called Jaspers just toward Central Point on old Hwy 99. Somedays the place is so packed you have to wait to get into the place, but on a nice day they have plenty of outside seating. Wild boar burgers, elk, buffalo, plus the usual and unusal types of burgers in 1/3, 1/2 and full pounders.

Hmmmm time for a piece of meatball pie with chocolate sauce".

We have dined at Larks several times, most recently was in Jan. for lunch. Very good food here! Chateaulin, Peerless, Amuse and Liquid Assets are a few more of our favorites. For a real treat, check out New Sammy's Cowboy Bistro in nearby Talent. ***kim***
