Going to the castles in early March (I know the weather can be dicey but only time I will have chance to go)- I am not clear on how to get to the castles from the train station in Fussen. Is there a bus just to the castles?
Do I take the bus to Hohenschwangau? And if I do how to I get to where the castle's are located?
Do they run buses to the castles in early March?
Sorry for all the questions.

When I visited last May, a bus was waiting the arrival of the train from Munich. I opted to just take a taxi for the short ride from the station. Common dropoff point at the ticket office for both castles.

My wife and I went five years ago. A bus runs from the train station to the castles once an hour.

The ticket office is actually on around the corner of the bus stop. It is not at the building right directly in front of the bus stop. Just follow the crowd.

You can catch the Fussen to Schwangau bus from the train station. You can buy the ticket at the train station as well. You can find the bus frequency using this site. It's a very scenic route from the train station to Schwangau.

the bus drops you off way under the castle - from the hectic tourist Schlocked swquare where the bus stops you can then take horse carriages up to the entrance if not up to a strenuous hike. If into walking be sure to after the castle visit to hike up to the Marienbrucke - a bridge high up from the castle where a 'Mad' Ludwig once like to come and sit and ponder his fantasy ersatz medieval castle being constructed - he only lived in the complete castle a few days before being drowned by Bavarian higher up who feared he would bankrupt the Bavarian Treasury - Bavaria then being an independent entity of the German federation (not sure of exact status but largely autonomous I think).

Be sure to buy the Bavaria Pass at the train station in Munich as it will for 29 euros for at least two people, I think up to 5, cover the round-trip train and public buses from the Fuessen train station to the castles - and also can use all day in Munich for buses, S-Bahns, U-Bahns.

Just to let people know that the Neuschwanstein castle with its beautiful tower is not visable. They have scaffolding around the entire tall tower. Really sad for viewing. but the rest of the castle is open.

its easy , füssen train station is too small the bus is just behind in you plan a late attival there is a taxi service for 24 hours just in the front of the train station

Like King Ludwig above says it is all so so easy - Fussen is a small small station - again it is only a few miles to the castle complex - I enjoyed the few mile hike thru the woods there.
