Mara Serena Lodge/Masai Mara - Balloon Safari?
Hi all!
We`re staying at Mara Serena Lodge/Masai Mara this summer again and this time, we`re very much interested in doing a Balloon Safari. Does anyone know the name of the company operating the Balloon trips out of Mara Serena Lodge? And what are the rates for a Balloon Safari with champagne breakfast for 2012? Is advance booking required?
Has anyone done this experience from Mara Serena and can tell us a little about it? Is it easy to take photos from the balloon? Is there another camera installed inside the balloons that takes photos of the guests and if so, can you purchase these photos after the flight? Would you recommend this trip?

You will use the Balloon operator closest to the Serena.
Prices range from $425-450+ and there's a 'landing fee' in addition - believe $40. Includes the the breakfast.
Suggest you contact your tour operator for price, or if booking the Serena direct... contact them for prices and further details.
The balloon company will have a DVD for purchase, if you wish
While I don't do heights and, therefore, never gone up... friends have and taken their own photos which were amazing.
This activity should be pre-booked to assure your space especially so during the peak travel months (and even other times... just never know if they'll have room last minute. And suggest you don't arrange for last morning in the Mara as if weather is poor, they won't go up. Plan for a day or two prior departing so if flight has to be cancelled, you can do next day or next.

I hope its not too late Just as by sandi above the rates range between 465 to USD 480 includes, champagne breakfast, the ride landing fees and images to be sent after the ride.
You need an advance booking to avoid dissapointement
