Where should we go???

I am a single parent to a 12 year old girl. We are planning a vacation in the next month but are not sure where to go. Last year we went to Costa Rica and spent 3 days in the rainforest and 4 days at the beach. We had the best of both worlds. Adventure in the rainforest and then some relaxation on the beach. We would like to go somewhere with a beautiful beach, that is safe since it will just be us, good food, activities or sites to see and isn't going to put us in the poor house. Cuba has a beautiful beach but the food can sometimes be sketchy and I'm not sure about the safety. We've been to Mexico and my daughter was worried about the rough water. Any suggestions on where we can go and get the best of all worlds???

Grand Cayman and Aruba have good food and are family friendly with beautiful green water and easy to swim, not rough. Both have activities. GC is quieter and has better snorkeling, swim with the stingrays, etc.. Aruba has more nightlife (not that you want that, but it does) and has lots of watersports to try in front of all the hotels.

Where did you stay in Costa Rica? Thinking of a similar jaunt with children. Thanks

We stayed at the Volcano Lodge the first three nights. The rooms were pretty standard and not posh but the grounds were amazing, pool was great, food was good. We weren't in the room long enough to worry about it. We did the ziplining and the hot springs on the first day and on the second day we did a boat tour to see all of the animals. I booked through a Costa Rican tour company and they took care of everything. I would highly recommend them. All of our transportation from the airport to getting to and from the tours to getting to our second resort was taken care of and there were always on time and very polite. The second hotel was the Flamingo resort. It was also very good. There wasn't anything to walk to but it was ok because we were pool and beach bound for the next few days. I paid one price to the tour operator for the flight, hotels, all transporation and tours. Breakfast was always included so all we had to pay for was our dinners. I can send you their link if you are interested. We LOVED Costa Rica and will go back. The rainforest is very beautiful

Not ALL of Mexico has "rough water". There's lots of places that are calm, clear, and beautiful. Especially on the Caribbean side.

We cant decide between Punta Cana or Montego Bay/Jamaica. My husband and I will be by ourselves so we want an all inclusive adults only five star resort. Any suggestions on resort or where to go?
