Road from Besisahar to Manang - status ??

My husband is planning a trek to Manang in October and is hoping to do it before the road is completed. Does anyone have a good read on the status of this road??

Hi,

The road to manange is not complete yet. There is road until Sange, you can take a jeep from Besisahar to Sange or follow old trekking trail. The is complete from Dharapani to Chame and Besisahar to Sange. Now a days Between Jagat and Dharapani very hard part of the section, the nepal army is blasting this area.

any information email me

Thank you prem (not sure what happened to the response I posted last night!) Very helpful. Will pass it along to my husband who may have another question or two. He has booked his trip and is busy planning it.

Nepaltravel -- do you know if the walking trail is affected? You said that "between Jagat and Dharapani very hard part of the section, the nepal army is blasting this area" -- does that mean that the hiking is hard or impassible?

He is traveling by himself, and had planned to go with a porter. It sounds like this may not be as easy or straightforward as it seemed. He has done this sort of trekking before but not in this section and wanted to do it before the road was completed. The status of it may slow his traveling down quite a bit it sounds like....

The road is still not finished now, early 2012. As it is, the construction work has stopped due to money shortage in Nepal Army!
