Hi community!

I wonder... What are the top beaches a honeymoon couple could find themselves alone during our week in June? We plan to mainly enjoy the amenities of our nice villa, but I'd like to know what beach to head to when we go (seems to be so many options). And I'm not sure if secluded beach proximity should influence WHERE I choose the villa (ex: Bordeaux Mountain vs Ajax Peak vs Mamey Peak vs Gift Hill), as I don't mind driving 20 min. for our rare trip out.

Also, we'd like to snorkel and kayak once during our stay, if it is easy and not too scary. Where is best?

There are beaches that are isolated, but your technically not going to be alone, it just won't be as crowded as other beaches. Virgin Islands are some of the best boating in the world, so you'll always find a sailboat or 2 at every strand. The beaches aren't long and wide like in flat islands, they are in little coves so while it's not impossible to find a strand for a little bit, you just have to drive around until you find it. No one beach is empty of people at any given time. All the beaches are public, so a boat will show up sooner or later.

Jumbie is small and intimate and has very limited parking. Some days we were the only ones on the beach. Other days we shared it with another couple.

Succulent, were you there off-season? I think Jumbie Bay has four or five parking spaces, and I'm not sure I've ever seen more than one of them unoccupied, except maybe at the very beginning and very end of the day. My traveling companion and I once had it all to ourselves, and it was very romantic indeed, but that was only for a brief period just before sunset.

If you really want a beach all to yourself, you'll need to be willing to drive way out around the East End somewhere, and probably do some hiking too.

There are lots of other threads with snorkel tips. If you pick the right place, it will indeed be easy and fun, even if you have never snorkeled before and are not a strong swimmer.

Yes Hawksbill. DH and I were there in July. Lovely, but small beach. Our favorite besides Francis and Salomon...and Mahoe...and Honeymoon...etc, etc...

Your best bet for "alone" is to rent a villa with a pool that has complete privacy.

Jumbie is a good one, so is Salomon as far as "seclusion", but I would agree that you'll never be alone for a full day.

As far as snorkeling, would highly recommend doing the hike from salt pond to blue cobblestone beach and/or renting a dinghy and going to waterlemon - first time we did this we were beginner snorkelers, just need to be slightly adventurous. you can also rent a kayak at little maho bay and kayak to the island across from it. first time we did this, we never kayaked and were laughing all the way there since we didn't know if we were doing it right but we made it there and back.
