Berlin and Prague. May or Oct.?
I have visited Berlin twice in July and once in mid Sept. ( Prague in July)
We have to decide soon if we are going in mid May or second week in Oct.
If you have experienced either city that time of the year, your input would be appreciated.

Personally, I would vote for May. I live in Prague and feel that the city is really being renewed at this time. The cherry blossom blanket of white on Petrin hill, the blooming lilacs and vibe of a city awakening from winter can't be beat.
By the way, I would never plan a trip to either city based on potential weather especially for these months. They can be real fickle. For example, we just had a sunny first two weeks of October followed by the standard foggy stuff in the second half. May too can have unexpected cold days as winter hangs on late sometimes.
As for fellow tourists and crowds, you can't escape them really unless you come when it's cold (i.e. Nov, Feb). In my opinion, May seems to be more popular than October while both months will be more crowded on the weekends.
