WANTED: A great apartment in Rome

We pretty much have our itinerary set. Now we need a recommendation for an apartment in Rome for 4 nights, with an elevator and with a daily rate of about $200/$250 (give or take a few dollars).

We've always had luck with citybaseapartments.com, though our Rome apt did not have a/c. Make sure you inquire about this if you are traveling in the summer months. It was very hot!

We stayed in a great and reasonably priced penthouse apt. in 2009 and by the looks of the reviews that came after ours, it is just as nice as when we were there.

It is VRBO #188213

Oh, and there is an elevator to the top floor of the regular floors so you have to climb one set of steps to the apt. door and the apt. is on two floors. Upon opening the door, you are in the foyer and there is the bathroom, then you climb a set of stairs to the rest of the apt. (the kitchen, dining, living area and very large bedroom).

Check it out; you will not be disappointed!

In April we stayed here:

http://www.vrbo.com/283439

Might be around your price range in January. It's also available via rentalinrome.com, but we received a discount working with the owner Rome directly. No washing machine.

If you're looking for something less expensive, I've also used realrome.com with great success in the past.

Check out SleepinItaly for Rome- we had a great apartment with an elevator right near the Trevi Fountain. We were very happy with it. Two good sized bedrooms and one very small bedroom.

To me it is more important that the apartment is located where I want to be....the historic center.

Two sets of Fodorites have stayed in this apartment, very close to Piazza Navona. They are Anselm Adorne and lowcountryislander:

http://www.romecapitalapartments.com.../Boccaccio-140

Company is Rome Capital Apartments, whose Apartment Miguel I have rented 3 times.

This unit could work if the 2 siblings don't mind sharing a twin bedded room. Otherwise you'll have to find a 3 bedroom unit, of which there are not so many...

Just got back this week. We used romesweethome.it and it was great, but no lift. Really didn't need one for a couple of flights. Bonus was owner didn't want deposit. Free hi speed wireless as well.
