I really need ya'll's help....

I haven't seen much of the US except for Louisiana, New York, Illinois, California, Georgia and my home state, Texas. I mean, Oklahoma is literally 30 minutes away and I still haven't been there.

I'm more into quality than quantity but I pose another issue- I will be traveling in January (3-15)
Does anyone recommend a route to see as many states as possible? I'll be driving a Hyundai Elantra Touring and have NO experience driving in snow but I can purchase snow chains if needed.

My goal in life is to see ALL 50 states before I'm 35 (i have about 8 years to go).

I have lived in OK for 44 years. Frankly, not much in Kansas or OK that is worth driving to other than a few spots to eat here and there. Yes, there are things to see and do in these states its just they pale in comparison to other places to visit. So, no wonder you haven't made it here yet.

New Mexico-Carlsbad Caverns, White Sands. Guadalupe National Park is very close to Carlsbad(but in Texas).

Arkansas-Clinton Library, Petit Jean State Park, Hot Springs, Mount Magazine, Buffalo River

If you have NO experience driving in snow, I would highly recommend that you keep your trip to a southern route to avoid snow. Every winter in the D.C. area, we see drivers who are not used to driving in snow causing accidents or finding themselves in a ditch.
In 12 days, I would think that you could shoot across the South from Louisiana to Florida and the Carolinas and back through Tennessee and Arkansas. That's 7 new states right there--Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and Arkansas. And if you want "quality" over "quantity", you could drop going through Georgia and the Carolinas and still get 5 new states.

Longhorn beat me to the idea of staying in the south.
If you wanted to save a lot of miles on your car, you could leave shortly before noon on Jan 2 on the Texas Eagle to San Antonio and on the Sunset Limited to New Orleans.
Rent a car in NOL to head east to MS, AL, FL, GA, SC, NC and TN.
After seeing Beale St. and Graceland head back to New Orleans to turn in the rental car.
I was about 50 before I got to my 48th state. I'm hoping to visit Alaska and Hawaii sometime in the next 3 years.
Sometime when the weather is good drive your nice new car to Oklahoma.

You will probably run into snow, but at this point the weather people are projecting a mild winter for New Mexico.

I second the idea of a southern route in January. On the first day you could head through Arkansas to the area near Tennessee/Mississippi border. If you go to Memphis, don't miss the Sun Studio tour. Of course there's always Graceland, too. The famous Blues Trail is also in that area, including the town of Clarkdale, where a lot of blues musicians got their start.

I like Longhorn's idea of making a loop. You could cover alot in that many days. Sounds like fun!
