Turkey - Royal Holiday Palace

Hi.

I am looking to book my family holiday to Antalya, Turkey, in December, and after researching I would like to stay at the all inclusive resort Kervansaray Lara. The cheapest price I can find for a weeks long stay is £934.77 from the company Tiger Holidays.

Firstly, I was wondering is this a good price? I have never been to Turkey before or stayed in an all incluvsive resort, so I'm unsure whether this is a decent price or not.

Secondly, are there any other hotels which you recommend that are good? My only preference which the hotel must includeis a pool, a beach and a selection of resturants.

Thank you

Here is some advice:

- December is not really beach time anywhere in Turkey. If you're lucky you can of'course swim and sunbathe but a heated swimming pool would be preferable.

- Please check average day and night temperatures for Antalya on the web. There are many sites for that. Sea temperatures should be around 20 degrees Centigrade.

- The days will be short, so you will need a resort which has some activities in the evenings, such as shows, board games, quizes, etc. to keep you busy and entertained, in addition to possibly lit tennis courts, squash, and so forth.

- You will get more information from Trip Advisor Antalya forums on the AI hotels at Lara. Also consider Belek area and possibly even Side. When you ask, include your ages, since that will allow the respondents to advise accordingly

- AI means you will get all meals, usually open buffet and all drinks at meals and also snacks. Ultra AI means also all drinks till late at night and snacks any time including Turkish stuff plus chips, ice cream, etc.

- AI should also mean that all sports including, wind surf, sailing, water ski, tennis lessons should be free of charge. but this is not always guaranteed. You should check.

- The cheaper the AI resort the worst the quality of the food and the drinks. However, expensive does not always mean good either.

- There are usually a la carte restaurants which need reservation on the complex, some are included in the price some require extra payment.

By the way, how many does the price you give include? Does it also include flights and transfers?

You would do a lot better to self guide

www.otel.com great hotel options cheap

travelzoo.com has best hotels

goturkey.com not beachy in Dec. lots of crap hotels/cheap tours

off season you are probably looking at one of those.

booking.com for recent honest reviews on hotels.

Happy Planning!

Thank you for your responses,

you're right- considering the weather I'm better off going next summer. So we are now booking our vacation for then.

The price I gave was just for the hotel, not flights etc. I'm not sure what exactly the hotel includes.. but I am definately looking to book it from here because I'm finding that TigerHotels is offering me the cheapest price:

http://www.tigerholidays.co.uk/SearchResult.aspx

It seems like a normal Al and not an ultra Al. Also the hotel seems relatively expensive, but not too cheap and so I hope the food will be of decent quality.
