Spirit to SJU

Hi y'all, Thinking of purchasing a flight on Spirit to SJU. A friend says she heard they were 'horrible' based on the experience of another friend. What say you? Interested in any experiences with this airline.

Use www.spirit.com a lot no frills cheap big leather

"Big Front Seats" at coach prices new planes

they charge for everything though and you have to

know how to play the game basically decline everything

Bring onebag.com that will slip under the seat in front

of you they even charge for overheads...

But GREAT price points for me their FF program is great

Last fall FREE flight RT to Bogota cost me 5000 FF miles

each way otherwise FREE so I like them despite the

moneygrubbing for me like the Costco of the Sky.

AA.com older planes service higher prices for most routes

but good still not charging for seat assignments and

overheads they just bought a bunch of new planes so

probably will start soon...

Anyway I prefer first in Spirit to Coach on AA for sure

Qwovadis, we agree!
I have had no problems with Spirit, definitely no more than all the airlines. The planes are a good size (even to destinations that AA uses puddle jumpers). Seats are leather. Join the $9 club, the sales are huge. As for charging for everything, a lot of airlines are starting to do that, issue and continental for seat selection, others for checked bags, most for food, so starting to get used to it, and you can always say you don't need it.

Thanks for the feedback, y'all! Found a flight on AA and using points. For future travel, will take advantage of Spirit's low cost flights, if the opportunity presents itself again.
