On most trafalgar tours i've been on, there really isn't a whole lot of space on the bus..the overheards are really small and as the tour goes on, more and more people buy things (what they buy, I don't have any clue about as I rarely see anything priced all that much better, if at all, than what you can spend at home for the same item but that's another story)....but...
Most of the time, there is addiional room in the boot. People put their larger carry ons in the boot by themselves each morning after the one piece of checked luggage is brought down to the coach by the bellhops. There usually is enough room the operatibe word being usually. I'm not sure how it would work out if everybody brought large carry ons with them.....you should quite frankly, be able to make do with one suit case but that's me.
