Need good San Francisco hotel close to BART - with these limitations:

What are some good (3-star and up) hotels in good areas of San Francisco (near restaurants, shopping, etc.) that are also close to BART, with "close to BART" meaning not more than one block up/down a steep street, or two blocks on a level street?

I am already aware of the Hyatt in Embarcadero (don't really care for it) and the Palomar (don't want a hotel that takes pets). What are the others?

Thanks for your help!

One block - can't think of any. Two blocks, maybe (Parc 55 near Powell, Four Seasons and Marriott near Montgomery, among others)

You might want to try the Intercontinental (I think it was on 4th), it may be a little farther than you want, but it's a level walk from the Powell Street BART Station. If my memory is correct you'd have to come up to street level at Powell & Market Streets and walk around the corner and then maybe 3 (could be 4) blocks.

The Stanford Court isn't near a BART station. And it Definitely isn't a level walk (to anywhere) . . . .

if you request a pet UNFRIENDLY room at any of these hotels I've never had them refuse. I do it all the time.

I would also recommend Parc55. I have stayed there a couple times. I thought it was an easy walk. Hint, you can cut through the Burger King, I did that a lot.

All areas around BART are flat. There is costruction going on close to Montgomery BART, this leaves Embarcadero and Powell (don't stay at Civic Center sketchy area!)

Go to Google map, pull up Powell or Emb. Bart and search "what is near" for hotel. You will see what is close. Go for 2 blocks away as every station has a couple of exits.

Both Parc 55 and Hotel Kikko allow pets.

Sorry, janisj is quite right about Stanford Court. I was thinking of the Palace, which is adjacent to the Montgomery BART station.
