Things to do in Nashville, TN

Looking for some ideas of what to see/do in Nashville. We've been to The Hermitage twice, Belle Meade, Grand Ol Opry. What else? Including good places to shop. Suggestions, please!
Thanks

15 miles south of Nashville is a lovely little historic city called Franklin. The historic main street area has many shops (mostly upscale) and eateries (McCreary's Pub, Meridee's Bakery, Sweet Cici's are favorites), several Civil War sites (Battle of Franklin), and you can take a fun walking tour from franklinonfoot.com. There is a small shopping mall nearby called "The Factory".

A bit more out of the way is the Loveless Cafe which has been a landmark eatery since the 1950's. It is situated along the Natchez Trace Parkway, which is great for a relaxing drive or bike ride. The Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge (not far from the Loveless) won the Presidential Award for Design Excellence in 1995.

In Nashville, you can also visit Fisk University - the first college for blacks which opened 6 months after the civil war ended. It has 2 excellent art museums. If you can arrange to hear the Fisk Jubilee Singers perform, well, your trip is made .

Before visiting anything at Fisk Unversity, call them to make sure things like the Van Vechten Gallery are actually open. It was supposed to be open when I tried to visit, but was closed for building maintenance that was not noted on their website.
