Special occasion restaurant in Savannah

I've searched the restaurant threads and found many suggestions for casual dining but not much info on "special occasion" places. Any ideas for great food in pleasant surroundings? No price constraints. We're staying at the Avia.

The Pink House.
If you can't get reservations there, Garibaldi's.

First choice would be The Olde Pink House. It's right on Reynolds Sq.

Second choice might be Bistro 45. However, it's on Broughten street which is nothing.

im a big Pink house fan--when you make reservation ask to sit in the old section, not the newer section. In the basenment is a very old bar, thats part of the Pink House, where they have great Johnny Mercer music on a piano--if possible, have your dessert there--they also will serve you dinner there, but its usually pretty crowded. Last point, if you like flounder get the "seared" whole flunder, i think thats what they call it.And while your near the river, i love going to Hueys for breakfast and eat the fantastic beneghts with my over easy eggs, and watch the boats go by--have fun--bob

Elizabeth's on 37th
Cha Bellas
Local 11 Ten
Sapphire Grill
My favorite is the Sapphire Grill and it's close to Avia.
You can't go wrong with any of the above for great food.

I've never been to Pink House, but it gets great reviews here and several of my friends have really enjoyed it.

Many years ago Elizabeth's on 37th was rated at the top. I'm not sure now, but it's a very nice atmosphere in an old house.

Alligator Soul is a short 1 to 2 block walk to Avia. The fine dining restaurant is open for dinner only, and offers spectacular vegetarian as well as their signature Hilbo steak, and full bar. From comments on Facebook and Twitter, Alligator Soul is a preferred choice for men and women alike.
