quovadis: I assumed your "TA for mixed reviews..." referred to tripadvisor.com, but I was unable to find any reviews or forum comments about this restaurant there.

Could you give a URL to find those reviews or comments?

I have to say this is one of the worst italian restaurants I have ever been to. My wife and I went for dinner and were seated in the patio area next to the open kitchen area. We were one of only two groups in the restaurant at the time. About a minute after placing our order, we heard the sound of a microwave being used in the kitchen. The reason this stood out is that there were five cooks in the kitchen area and none of them were doing anything but standing around and talking. We asked the manager if our dinners were being "microwaved" and he assured us that they were prepared fresh and cooked in the oven. He immediately walked over to the kitchen and called the "cooks" over to the side and talked with them. I then heard the microwave signal that it was done and watched as one of the "cooks" walked over to remove the contents. The cook observed me watching and stopped. She backed away from the microwave and didn't remove the contents while I was watching. When my wife and I received our dinners, we could tell that hers had been heated in the microwave because the pasta was hard around the edges and cold in spots. We will never go back for the pricy TV dinners.

Paul961, is there someplace special you'd recommend? We'll be in Cartagena in February and would like to avoid microwaved dinners

That's what I thought. I wonder why people bother!

Any ideas, anyone else? Thanks.

La Bruschetta, LA VITROLA, ... but it was not quite as good at La Vitrola. Cartagena is a great, ...

chowhound.chow.com/topics/304893

It is fine not as good as others Paul is awfulizing
all restuarants posess microwaves and mayindeed
nuke the food to warm it prior to serving.
Does not make it a bad place from personalexperience
years back.

Thanks Qwovadis. I've been checking Chowhound.

Overall, compared to other destinations, none of the various forums have much on Colombia. Really excited about the trip!
