Who do I contact for a refund for 2nd leg of trip?

I bought my airline tix from Priceline for a flight on American. About an hour before the second leg of the trip it was cancelled due to weather. I was automatically booked on a flight for the following morning but ended up taking a bus to my final destination. Nothing was offered for compensation. Do I contact Priceline or American for a partial refund or credit? Will I get a refund?

Generally you don't get refunds for weather delays. They would have put you on a flight to your final destination, but you chose to make other arrangements. I don't think a refund is in the cards.

You certainly can try with Priceline, but I doubt you'll get any refund or credit. AA did make plans to get you to your final destination. Granted, it would have been the next day, but an airline doesn't guarantee it'll get you there on time. The decision to take the bus was yours, I assume. I'd probably have done the same thing, but it would have been with the expectation of losing the final leg of the trip.

I'd expect priceline to just tell you to call AA. A p/l did was sell you the ticket. AA has the money now. Call AA if you want. Sounds like you got a boarding pass for a flight the next morning and then were a no-show. Maybe you can get the bus fare from AA. Good luck.

If the outbound flight had been canceled or severely delayed, the OP absolutely would have been entitled to cancel the trip and get a refund. Having a half-used ticket complicates things a bit, but OP might well be still be entitled to 1/2 the ticket price.

The key is determining which parts of the contract are with Priceline and which parts are with American. You may have to read some small print to find that out.

Unfortunately, this is the price that anyone who books through a site like Priceline or Kayak or Expedia may learn about too late: If everything goes well, it's ok to book through those sites. But when something unusual happens, or when you have to ask "who owns this problem?," then you find yourself in a swamp of people pointing fingers at each other.

Try asking this question on flyertalk's AA forum: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/american-aadvantage-445/ there are a lot of very knowlegeable people on that forum.

Before submitting your question, do read the "Newcomers: Please Read This First".
