I avoid embassies and big western-owned hotels, but I ate at the Cafe Argana, have a photo of it as well. This is the first incident in Morocco in several years, so I wouldn't necessarily give up on it as a destination (although I did chicken out on Tunisia earlier this year). You're probably still likelier to hurt yourself in your house than be a victim of a terrorist attack. Sympathy to all involved.

It's pretty hard to stay away from "soft targets" in a place that is set up for tourists. To go to Marrakech and not to to Djemma el-Fna Square isn't much fun. Same in Cairo and not going to the bazaar or Mumbai and not seeing the Gateway of India. The most recent bomb in Cairo which killed the young French girl was under a marbel bench, not in a restaurant or club. One needs to just look at the history and the odds and personally weigh the risks.
