Cant wait to get to Paris!

I just cannot express how excited i am to get to Paris (in about 5 days). I will be travelling with my sister and will be in Paris from Apr 8-28th.

We have 1N-2D Brussels trip(18-19 Apr) and 2days Geneva (21-22Apr)trip planned in between, and the rest of the days we intend to spend exploring Paris and around.

While we have decided to get the 4 or 6 day museum pass, we are quite not sure if or what transport pass can we opt for (5 days -Paris Visite??). (In my prior trips - to UK - I used the oyster pass, Vienna - 1week travel pass)

From Louvre to the Eiffel tower, Sacre Couer to Notre Dame we want to see it all, but also planning on some day trips to Giverny, Versailles, Loire Valley, Provins?, Mont St Michel?, Normandy? - are these feasible?

It definitely is a dream trip as me and my sister had made a pact to travel abroad as we grew older, and we finally seem to be living up to it! So Paris here we come

I thought perhaps things had changed but there is NO way that a Paris Visite card is economical or the best thing to have. You can buy a Navigo pass for unlimited use of metro and bus. Or even buying carnets of tickets would be betterh than the PV.

We've never done Mt. St. Michel as a day trip from Paris but all of the others are definitely feasible. You can do most on your own by train or bus but should probably do a guided tour for Normandy. Be sure to include a day trip to Chartres. Have a wonderful time and be sure to do a trip report.

agree with above post...carnet or navigo is the way to go for public transportation

check the museums and monuments you want to go to so that you know what days they are closed when planning the use of your pass; you should also check to see what sites are open late...many are open late at least one night a week.

Versailles is just gorgeous and I would go there...avoid the weekend for fewer crowds. The Loire Valley is lovely and we love Amboise and Chenonceau. Reims is also a great day trip. The cathedral used to be the site of the coronation on French kings and is magnificent.

Definitely write a trip report! Have a great time.
