Caesar Augustus
A favorite of the Hollywood set, this landmark villa hotel is a Caprese paradise thanks to its breathtaking perch atop a cliff; its grand gardens, terraces, and pool; and its charming, casual-chic rooms with their plump chairs and fragrant bouquets. You won't give a second's thought to decor, however, once you catch sight of the fabled stone terrace and its panorama view of the Bay of Naples from all rooms or the infinity pool—a jaw-dropping extravaganza nearly levitating 1,000 feet over the sea. The owner is a keen gardener and delights in showing guests his English roses and 2-acre vegetable plot. Blissfully distant from Capri Town's crowds, the poolside "zero-mile" restaurant, with ingredients grown in the gardens, is open to nonguests, as are the hotel's lovely summer classical and jazz concerts.
