Cerro Pan de Azúcar Review
The 339-meter (1,100 foot) so-called "Sugar-loaf Hill" north of Piriápolis passes for a mountain in flat Uruguay, but the views are stupendous east toward Punta del Este and west toward Montevideo. The climb isn't bad, but plan on two hours each to ascend and descend. At the top sits a 35-meter (115-foot) concrete cross with a narrow spiral staircase inside. The views from the top of the cross are no better than from the base.
