Libertador Hotel Isla Esteves Review

The Libertador, a gleaming white, futuristic-looking, low-rise hotel, which functions more like a resort, is 5 km (3 miles) from Puno. The Libertador chain has spent tons of money to refurbish this classic property, even though it was already one of the area's most luxurious lodgings. It's on Isla Esteves, an island in Lake Titicaca, but which is connected to the mainland by a causeway. Rooms and bathrooms are all comfortable, large, clean, and modern, with stunning views of the lake. While taxis are the only way to get into town, after a long day if you're too beat to head into town, you're in luck because there's an upscale international restaurant, Los Uros, a coffee shop, and cozy bar that has beautiful night views, good pisco sours, and a fireplace.

    Modern comfort

Oh what a nice hotel. It is super modern and super clean. The main areas are great open expanses with spectacular views of Lake Titicaca. The ambience is the view. Our room was small but the view through our wall to wall windows of the sun rising over Lake Titicaca was a highlight of out trip. I like hard beds, so for me they were very comfortable. The restaurant is excellent. Walking around the island the hotel sits on is an early morning not to be missed experience. My favorite hotel on our trip to Peru.
