Fodor's Expert Review Selina Máncora Hotel

Acceso Máncora, off Panamericano Norte, Máncora, Piura, Peru

At this dramatic hotel—just south of town and designed by Jordi Puig, who also did the MV Aqua luxury riverboats in the Amazon—among the first things you'll notice are the three-story, open-sided white box, which contains the bar and the front desk, and the stairs leading down to the longest infinity pool on the North Coast of Peru. Inside, in keeping with the Selina hotel chain's something-for-everyone lodging concept, the rooms range from hostel-style dormitories with bunk beds to standard rooms, from elegant suites to teepees open to the breeze. Plentiful public spaces allow for socializing with other travelers.

PROS

  • close to town
  • beautiful pool
  • flexible lodging options

CONS

  • the beach in front can get dirty
  • not the best choice for those seeking privacy
