Built in 1550 and now the home of the Escuela de Bellas Artes (School of Fine Arts), the Palacio de Marqués de Mozobamba is one of the city's oldest structures. The colonial-era, baroque-style architecture includes portales (stone arches) in front and a monkey-shaped stone fountain in the courtyard. Notice the Andean carvings of snakes, cougars, and lizards etched into the stone. Two Inca stone walls were discovered in 2003 during restorations.
