Yine Lodge Review
This collection of thatched bungalows at the confluence of the Manu and Madre de Dios Rivers is the result of a project that the Pantiacolla tour company has embarked upon with a Yine community. The lodge is on Yine land and the Yine people (one of several indigenous groups that live along the Upper Madre de Dios River) are learning to run it. Eventually it will be theirs. As a result, you get to learn a bit about their culture, in addition to enjoying the area's wildlife. The lodge lies near the airstrip of Boca Manu, meaning guests can depart on a charter flight or head six hours downriver to the Inter-Oceanic Highway, which connects Cusco and Puerto Maldonado.
