Barranco is the artist hangout, so it's no surprise that the hotel's common areas are furnished in what might called "thrift store chic." Bronze sculptures are scattered about and paper lanterns hang from above. It all somehow works with the old house's vividly colorful tile floors. Rooms have high ceilings and tall windows with shutters you can throw open to catch the ocean breezes. Pros: Near dozens of restaurants, quiet street. Cons: Hippy asthetic means common areas are often a jumble, bathroom walls don't extend to the ceiling.
