There's no sign at this local landmark, so look for the colonial-style building behind a low wall. Beyond the heavy wooden doors are an oak-paneled bar and dining rooms with potted palms and antique furnishings. The fish is among the best the city. Start with the excellent cebiche, available at a reasonable price. If you have room for more, try the pulpo a la brasa (grilled octopus) or fetuccini negro con camarones (squid-ink pasta tossed with shrimp). Accompany your meal with a selection from the long list of South American wines.
