Fodor's Review

Overlooking a quiet plaza behind the Municipalidad (City Hall) through a hedge of potted plants, this chic, Peruvian-Italian fusion restaurant is a pleasant spot for a break from sightseeing. The menu, which is the work of chef Gastón Acurio, offers an excellent mix of light to hearty fare. On the light side, there are extensive salad and sandwich selections, and empanadas with fillings such as ají de gallina (chicken in a creamy pepper sauce). Come hungry and share an order of causushis (cold mashed potato with various fillings), then gorge on lomo saltado (sautéed beef strips, onion, peppers, and tomato over rice), paella, goat cheese ravioli in a tomato-basil sauce, or Huancaina fettuccine in a yellow pepper–cheese sauce with a sirloin scaloppine topped with mushrooms. Save room for a brownie lúcuma (topped with cream of the native lúcuma fruit) or one of the other amazing pastries. There are also branches near San Isidro's Parque El Olivar, at Pancho Fierro 115, and in the Larcomar shopping center in Miraflores, which has an impressive ocean view.
