Ulrike's Café

Updated 11/30/2012

Fodor's Review

German transplant Ulrike Simic and company dish up food all day long, making this the perfect refueling stop during a day of market shopping and sightseeing. Breakfast gets underway, before the market does, at 8 am. Stop by for the S/20 prix-fixe lunch, with a lot of vegetarian options on the menu, a real rarity in this part of Peru. They've got good à la carte soups and pizzas, too, and yummy brownies, muffins, cheesecake, and chocolate-chip cookies for dessert.

A refuge from the mercado

Ulrike's Cafe is well run, has great coffee, good food and very clean bathrooms, right off the market in Pisac. I found it to be a welcomed refuge from the madness of Pisac's market. The desserts are especially nice. Try the strudel and don't miss the coffee - the best.
