Museum eateries rarely warrant guidebook listings, but this small, elegant café inside the glass-enclosed courtyard of the Museo de Arte Precolombino is actually one of the city's top restaurants. Dishing up novel and exciting twists on traditional Peruvian cuisine, try tuna with an Andean chili chutney or baked cuy, served with an accompaniment of pureed Andean potatoes. The menu is prix-fixe after 6 PM.

Map Cafe is located in a beautiful courtyard, serves gourmet food (I had the Alpaca - yum), has excellent service and the price, $35 for pre-fixe dinner, is just right. You can also tour the museum before dinner while sipping the Pisco Sour that is included in the dinner.
