Part of a Peruvian minichain of hotels, the high-rise Don Carlos caters to business travelers. The hotel is not the most stylish, but rooms are comfortable and those facing the street have double-glazed windows, a rare concession in this land of noisy buses and horn-happy drivers. Pros: Away from the tourist hub, double-glazed windows keep out the chill and the noise, cozy downstairs bar. Cons: Unattractive location right on the Avenida El Sol, rooms are small for the price, only one computer for guests to use.
