Fodor's Review

An endless buffet combines traditional Andean delicacies with Thai and Japanese offerings, and there's platter after platter of desserts, and a free pisco sour included. With subdued lighting and thoughtful touches like Andean textiles on the walls, Tunupa effectively plays down its barn-like size. A nightly show makes this upstairs venue on the Plaza de Armas hugely popular with tour groups. More intimate seating is on the balcony (glassed-in for those chilly Andean nights), but reservations are advisable regardless of your group size. Try the alpaca carpaccio and finish with a rich chirimoya meringue. There is a second Tunupa location in Urubamba; it offers the same enticing menu, and is located inside an old garden-filled hacienda by the river. From there you can also take a two-hour walk up to the salt pans of Salineras.
