Internet, Mail & Shipping in Cusco & Machu Picchu

Internet, Mail & Shipping

Many tourist-oriented shops in the Sacred Valley and Aguas Calientes near Machu Picchu do sell stamps and have a SERPOST mailbox to drop off your cards and letters, but your mail will reach its destination more quickly if you post it back in Cusco, or, better yet, in Lima. Public Internet access is not as widespread outside Cusco as it is in in the city, and connection times are slower. As in Cusco, Internet cafés are designated with an @ sign in front. The Museo CATCO and Cyberpath in Ollantaytambo have computers for public use. The number of Internet cafés is growing in Aguas Calientes, the fastest of which is Inkanet, along the railroad tracks. Expect to pay about S/3 per hour in the Sacred Valley, and S/4 per hour in Aguas Calientes.
